The two paragraphs we read talk about the New
Year’s resolution. First in the article of the U.K government, it says that
most people can’t achieve their new year’s resolution. After that, it talks
about why many people can’t achieve their goals and how can they do it. The
main reason is that people always follow a model to achieve their goals, and
that is not working. The articles suggest some tips to help people do it. For
example: You should start with small piece goal to make things easier. Also you
can make the goal at anytime anywhere, it unnecessary to wait until a special
time like New Year to make the resolution. In the second paragraph, it mentions
4 reasons and tips to help fix New Year’s resolution. You shouldn’t make the
resolution that is about what you and others people think should do. It just
makes no sense. Make goals that you really want.
The resolution can’t be done also because
it makes people think about future now the present. And the resolution won’t
last long because you don’t have a commitment, you need to have a good one to
achieve you goal.
In
the New Year, I wish to change my habit that is planning. I want to change it
because most of the time I don’t have plan, so my life looks like a mess. I
think it is important to change it not only because it will help my study now,
but also it will help my life in the future. In the past I seldom make a plan
because I don’t know how and the benefit of it. However after I experienced the
mess I wanted to have a plan. I actually tried to make a plan in the past, but
it didn’t go well because the plan was not thoughtful. I just simply put what I
need to do on the plan and solve it one by one. As the time went by, I felt
tired of repeating the same thing over and over again. So I just lost my interest and gave up that.
I think it was just like the New Year’s resolution that I don’t have a
commitment to continue my plan. But it was also because I was too lazy. In the New Year, I will first change it by
making a good short tern plan; I don’t need to have a big and huge plan at
first. A Short tern plan will not only help me with my life but it will also
teach me how to make a good and effective plan. Of Couse I have to keep
following the plan or everything is useless. After I learn how to make a good
short plan, I could try to have a long tern plan. The plan for the next a few months,
I could make the plan about study and life about how to balance them. After I learned how to make a good
long tern plan I will be capable to arrange my time well. My life will not like
a mess. If I change it my grade will get better first, because I study in a more
effective way, which is have more time to study. It will also will build a
condition for me to prepare for the future.
